What makes our Purkinje Extractor different from other
extraction processes?
Working relationship with Purkinje themselves
We have an on-going working relationship with Purkinje.
This extraction process was developed by working with Purkinje -
not trying to hack it ourselves. The process involves upgrading the database
using the latest version of the Dossier application and Purkinje
Tools - combined with our own programs and processes. This is
not something another EMR vendor can do as
Purkinje would not give their competitors a copy of their EMR
application.
Full Extraction of your Clinical Notes
We are able to get the entire Clinic Note from the Dossier
system! No other process is able to get as much of the
note as our process can do. As you can see from the screen
shots (click here) our notes contain all the information from
the Dossier note. They are even broken down into the same
sections!! We even get the referral letters embedded in
the note.
Extracted Data Viewer
As part of the process we provide a simple converted data viewer
that allows you to look at and review the converted data.
This is very helpful in reviewing the data before it is imported
into your new Vendor's EMR. As well - as you move into the
future - it can be helpful to have a backup of your data that
you can view and use in the future - which is not possible with
the Dossier database. This can provide you with a way
of making sure you have access to your records for years to come
- which is a way of dealing with the medical record archiving
requirements of Canada and Alberta.
Extraction of Images and Labs (in HTML format)
As well as the clinical notes - we get all your images from your
Dossier application. The images are extracted in the
format they were held in the Purkinje/Dossier system. We
preserve them exactly as they are. We do not try to
convert them into any one particular format. This way your
data is exactly as it was in the Dossier screens.
Well Documented Database Structure in easy to access format
As part of the conversion process we provide complete
documentation to the database structure we export the data to.
This is important for Vendors looking to import that data into
their EMRs. Most systems do not contain a well documented
structure - and thus that makes the conversion process more
difficult. Our detailed documentation allows you to have
any vendor import the data into their EMR.
